Buying Guides

To choose a good and reliable machine, you need to know some of the following important criteria.

Printed bed temperature

In 3D printing, the temperature is the key factor. If your printed bed temperature isn't right, you could face a multitude of problems. So you need to find the best balance for your machine with the filaments.

Changing the temperature of the printed bed regularly is essential if you are constantly facing temperature problems despite having adjusted many settings within the recommended range of the filament manufacturer.

Many types of filaments require a printed bed to be heated. This helps the print stick in place and ensures it cools down more slowly. If your printed bed is too cold, you will likely see problems with part or even your entire printout of the printed bed. Warping is also a common problem caused by low bed temperatures, especially with ABS and Nylon fibers. These types of filaments are especially susceptible to thermal contractions as they cool and need to be cooled carefully.

Printing materials

There are three main groups of printed materials.

  • Fiber form:

It is a fairly common type used very commonly in the market. Often used by low-cost 3D printers (FDM technology). Plastic wires are packed into 1.75mm or 3mm plastic coils depending on the nozzle in use. These are thermoplastics that are easy to melt at temperatures between 180-240 degrees Celsius. Common is still 1.75mm 3D printed plastic fibers

  • Liquid form:

UV/SLA/DLP/LCD technology uses liquid ink, also known as Resin. The resin material is easily solidified under the influence of ULTRAVIOLET with a wavelength of 400-550 nm. It is usually used in quality printers.

  • Powder form:

Machines with SLS technology often use fine powder materials during printing. When operating at high temperatures, the powder will be burned hot and then combined into solid blocks extremely strong and durable.

Depending on the customer's requirements, powdered materials can be produced from nylon or metal accordingly.

Typically printed materials:

  • ABS, PLA, PEEK, PET, PETG resin,...

  • Resin Ink:

  • · Standard Resin

  • · Resin is quite

  • · Resin Casting Jewelry

  • · Gray Resin

  • Bột Powder SLS

Powder materials used for SLS 3D printers are usually:

  • Nylon PA12

  • Nylon PA11

  • Nylon PA11 / PA12

  • Alumide

  • CarbonMide

  • Glass-filled Nylon

  • PEBA 2301

FAQs

We'll answer some of the most frequently asked questions right here. Don't miss any of them if you want more experience choosing and using a 3D printer!

Why is 3D printed material expensive?

Raw materials for 3D printing are not expensive, however, due to the scale of production of 3D printed plastic in particular or 3D printing materials, in general, are not large. In addition, some special forms of 3D printed ink such as Resin or powder that need to go through many processing and storage stages are also very complicated and expensive.

Some types of 3D printed materials have special components (to optimize for 3D printing) and luminescent compounds, color changes ... It makes it cost much higher.

Does the use of non-Dremel filaments invalidate the warranty?

The use of third-party filaments will not invalidate the warranty for a 3D45  printer if it is one of the types of filaments that the printer can accept. Be sure if using a third-party filament, to always manually enter the manufacturer's recommended temperature settings. Preloaded filament configurations only involve Dremel filaments.

If you have further questions, please contact the customer support center directly by calling 1-844-437-6533.

Does Hatchbox Filament work with this 3D40 Flex printer?

When you use Hatchbox with the product it still works well. However, you should use Dremel PLA with Dremel Digilab 3D40 as it has been tested for compatibility and optimal performance with 3D40 Flex.
